Initial Sketches in Design

The manta ray is used as inspiration for the base design.  The shape allows it to glide through the water effortlessly. By configuring various aspects of the original design, a circular pattern emerged. The new design followed the design of a squid or starfish as a symetrical entity with a secure grounding in the water.
The aspect of this idea was to create a ballast system that would allow the mobile sea port to raise or submerge portions of the base.
The core is going to be the heart of the earth space elevator base. Mechanical systems will be implemented to contrive solar and wind energy in order to power the base and sustain its inhabitants. The core will also serve to protect the base of the ribbon and extend into the sky.

The technology is here to design an elevator into space, it is up to the engineers and architects to make it a reality.
